Gisel Florez, the NFT artist of light

Gisel Florez is one of 50 artists featured in “CRYPTO ART – Begins,” the first NFT book to tell the story and evolution of Crypto Art

“”CRYPTO ART – Begins” chronicles the exciting beginnings and evolution of Crypto Art through the story and work of 50 of the world’s top artists who contributed to its birth and are still an active part of its present and future revolution with their NFT projects.

CRYPTO ART – Begins presents Gisel Florez

Gisel Florez is a photographer who has used her talent to access her transformation into a digital artist.

Undisputed protagonists of her NFTs, her waves of light and water that tell of the mysterious universal interconnections that manifest themselves with secret flows of energy.

    WHO GISEL FLOREZ IS?

An artist of the handheld video camera and the video techniques she incorporates within her conceptual practice, Gisel Florez has a relationship with art that has deep and solid roots.

With over 18 years of experience in the New York photography scene, Florez’s collaborations as a still life photographer include international brands and established editorial publications.

In 2018 she was inspired by her son to take an interest in Crypto Art. She began, thus, uploading her work to SuperRare and KnownOrigin.

Her involvement with Crypto Art is not limited to artistic production. Gisel Florez is also the founder of Women of Cryptoart (WOCA), a community of support for women protagonists of this revolution.

    HER ART

In Gisel Florez’s artistic research, photography is a medium through which to explore the notion of the sublime, transformation and the fundamental aspects of human experience.

Themes that are connected by the narration of energy transmissions. The imperceptible flows that connect each element of the universe are narrated by a 4×5 camera and video.

The artist’s gaze identifies the path of interaction between water, fire and light through the symbol of the wave that in Florez’s works takes on different forms, all representative of earth vibrations.

“Chasing the Light: Lightform in Blue, Brown, and White” (2020) is the work that inaugurates the artist’s exploration of the expansion of light and time in the moment of the photographic shot.

Here emerges a reflection on how understanding microcosmic events in our reality teaches us much about its macrocosm. The lines generated by the path that light has taken during the time of capture reveal the decision-making will of chance unfolding through the temporal dimension.

This concept is developed even further in “Transmission of Lights: Galvanized Current” (2020), a galaxy of colors, textures and multifaceted lighting, as the artist herself calls it.

A study of the worlds that lie between the universe of digital media and the digitization of emotions. A fascinating temporal map of visual emission waves.
