Kenny Schachter will curate the first NFT exhibition of the Institut platform
The Unit London gallery in London, specializing in digital art, asked the artist, art dealer and journalist Kenny Schachter to curate the first NFT exhibition for the Institut sales platform, launched some time ago by the same gallery.
The physical exhibition brings together 100 artists from both the traditional and digital world, including Miao Ying, Olive Allen, and IX Shells, who recently became the best-selling female artist in NFT with her work “Dreaming at Dusk”, sold for 500 ETH, about $ 2 million.
Institut will also produce limited edition physical prints of books and sculptures. “We also have some drops of physical edition works planned,” said gallery director Joe Kennedy. And Kennedy continues: “IX Shells has created a new painting, which we are turning into a 12 or 15 color silk screen edition. She has animated an image so that this incredible painting is macabre. She already has a digital component inside. some of the artists on display are digital natives and others are more traditional painters. “
Available NFTs inspired by the characters of “Ghettolimpo”, the new album by Mahmood, one of the first Italian artists to experiment with NFTs with the support of Art Rights and AmaZix.
NFTs have fully entered in the world of music, as well as in that of contemporary art.
Mahmood, author and singer esteemed on the Italian and international scene, after the excellent results achieved with “Gioventù bruciata” (platinum record) and the global success of “Soldi” (quadruple platinum record) with which he won the 69th edition of the Festival of Sanremo, returns with a new recording project, “Ghettolimpo“.
“Ghettolimpo” represents an imaginary made up of two souls with many shades that are found and intersect in the lyrics of the album, an authentic record that takes inspiration from influences and references of life transformed into an artistic and sound dimension with multiple contaminations.
The cover of Mahmood’s new album “Ghettolimpo”
“I have always been interested in digital worlds – says Mahmood – and I was intrigued to try to experiment with NFTs: this is how special animations are born for my album characters that take on a new artistic and creative form”.
For his entry into the world of NFT, Mahmood has launched an exclusive collection of digital works created byLettergram, who oversaw the graphics of the album and translated the artist’s creative ideas: video animations depicting six of the avatars created by the singer who each correspond to a different imagery – Inuyasha, Rapide, Dorado, Klan, Kobra, and Zero – as well as the album logo and the teaser cover.
The digital collectible works are available exclusively on the official website https://nft.mahmood.it/ in limited copies, each attributable to a digital certificate that ensures their absolute uniqueness.
Along with the works there are also physical bonuses, including the “Ghettolimpo” album on vinyl and in the exclusive cassette support as well as the official merchandising T-shirts.
The operation saw the involvement of a pool of professionals to support Mahmood’s innovation and creativity.
The artist has in fact collaborated with two companies with many years of experience in the NFT sector, whose consultancy has allowed the creation of the artworks: AmaZix, marketing and legal agency of the Blockchain world based in Hong Kong and a decentralized team of +80 experts of marketing, legal and award-winning creatives with whom he manages the strategic and implementation aspects for over 250 projects globally, in collaboration with Studio Simbula for the legal part; and Art Rights, an Italian art startup for the management and certification of physical and digital works with Blockchain technology since 2016 in support of Artists, Collectors and Professionals who, together with its founder Andrea Concas, have today created the largest Italian Art Tech community.
Mahmood, who has always been attentive to news and eager to explore new ways to express his creativity, is one of the first Italian artists to experiment with this new form of art.
“After the entry of art, the time has come for great music, an innovation that of the NFT that opens up new scenarios to collectibles, to fans of one of the greatest Italian artists, Mahmood” – says Andrea Concas, CEO of Art Rights.
The Simbula Law Firm has dealt with all aspects related to new technologies, blockchain and NFT, as well as in relation to the critical issues underlying the protection of consumer rights and the relationships between the different players involved and the copyright issues of the artist.
This is the first case in Italy of general conditions of sale particularly structured on the basis of the peculiarity of the project.
“Combining NFT technologies and the best Italian creativity in the field of music and design, required a considerable effort of the various teams who worked together on this operation, which I thank: it was not easy to manage the many technical and regulatory challenges posed from this completely new medium” testified Paolo Anziano, founder of AmaZix.
A one-of-a-kind collaboration that sees the world of music make its entry into that of NFTs flanked by a pool of experienced professionals.
With this new project, Art Rights continues to innovate, supporting the world of creativity and continuing its collaborations with major Italian and international realities.

Ethereum gas fees fell
Among the problems most complained about by artists when mining NFTs is the gas fee, a commission on the Blockchain transaction on the Ethereum or Bitcoin network.
For the past 6 months, according to data provided by BitInfoCharts, the average transaction fee on Ethereum is now $ 2.15. This is the lowest average fee since December 20, 2020, when the average fee was $ 2.
Transaction fees did not exceed $ 2 for most of 2020, but things took an unexpected turn as Bitcoin’s bull run kicked off this year, dragging Ethereum with it.
ETH transaction fees hit as high as $ 69.92 on May 12, a day after Ethereum hit its all-time high of $ 4,164. Another momentary spike occurred exactly a week later when transaction fees increased to $ 59.57.
What’s Happening to Ethereum?
The fees are low because the demand for Ethereum is low. The price of ETH is now around $ 1,800 and is slowly falling.
Fees could further decrease following the arrival of Ethereum 2.0, the upgrade to the Ethereum blockchain, which could take years before it is fully implemented, but promises faster and cheaper transactions and much greener mining.
This is partly because the network will shift from the current proof-of-work consensus mechanism, which requires powerful hardware to validate transactions, to proof-of-stake.
On 6 July the Multiverse Institute For Arts And Technologies will open in Milan, a new educational and creative center dedicated to immersive arts, new technologies and emerging technologies.

Finding the right Gallery for an Artist: what are the pros and cons
Being represented by a gallery is a unique opportunity for artists to support artistic and economic growth. But not everyone agrees …
Finding the right gallery that believes in his artistic talent and potential is an artist’s greatest challenge.
Representation by a gallery in some cases stabilizes an artist’s market, protecting him from speculation and ensuring fiscal and economic protection for his works.
Although it may be tempting for artists to give up the mediation of the gallery and sell their works independently, this is not always the best choice.
Giving up on representation can halt an artist’s long-term sales growth and even jeopardize his market. In fact, the tasks of a gallery include identifying potential collectors and establishing the price of the works based on the actual value and the one suited to demand.
In addition to the protection and growth of the market, the representation supports the quality of the artist’s work, thus increasing his reputation.
When a gallerist decides to invest in an artist it means that he is committed to starting a long-term collaboration, which takes various forms, from promotional support to logistical and financial support.
When a gallerist decides to invest in an artist it means that he is committed to starting a long-term collaboration, which takes various forms, from promotional support to logistical and financial support.
This level of involvement between a gallery and an artist can vary depending on their arrangement.
An artist can be a “guest” or “represented” by a gallery: if he is a “guest” it means that his works are simply exhibited in the gallery spaces or taken to a fair.
If, on the other hand, the artist is “represented”, the gallery invests in his growth path, promotes his art, sells his works internationally and organizes exhibitions even outside the gallery walls.
Before deciding whether or not to represent an artist, the gallery proposes a trial period, and then chooses whether to enter into longer-term contracts.
While this relationship protects the artist and his works, on the other it does not allow them to explore or engage in other job opportunities with other galleries, brands or institutions if the stipulated agreement requires it.
“Ideally an artist should be represented by two to four galleries, as each gallery offers different opportunities,” says Leila Greiche, founder of L’INCONNUE gallery in New York.
Being exhibited in different cities together with different groups of artists, as well as participating in public projects or with companies, helps build a large audience capable of supporting the artist’s market over time.
In general, representation in the gallery is often the key to taking emerging artists to the next level because it involves promoting the artist, introducing works of art to collectors, consulting and building an online reputation.
In these terms for artists, being represented by a gallery can provide the necessary support to finance their career.
Furthermore, for collectors, knowing that a gallery is giving its support to an artist is a strong signal that makes them gain confidence in the purchase of his works.
And you, are you ready to be represented by a gallery?
